Hi Jeff,
Thank you for your reply, and for the copy of the Will of James Fears'. I don't know about the James Fears who wrote that Will, but I do know that in 1800 the James Fears I wrote about who was dad-in-law to Richard Boatman, was living in Pulaski County, Kentucky. Richard was living there in 1800 as well. About 1798, Richard and his in-laws left Tennessee and moved to Pulaski Co., KY. So far, the only other thing I know about Richard's dad-in-law James Fears is that he was an early TN Baptist Preacher and that James was the Pastor later on in Kentucky at the Flat Lick Baptist Church in 1799 there in Pulaski County, KY. I doubt this James Fears was living in VA before he died. The James Fears who wrote that Will you posted a copy of, wrote his Will in VA. Or am I confused? haha. Thanks and if I find anything else that will be helpful to you in your research, I'll let you know. Oh, one more thing... I do know that when Richard Boatman's dad Robert died in 1789, that is when Richard left VA and moved to TN. He married Nancy Fears in TN. (Richard had been living in Pittsylvania County, VA before he moved to TN. Tho' he was born in Amelia County, VA, or Nottaway County. But originally, Richard's Boatman family/kinfolk lived in Lancaster County, VA)
Tammy
