Massachusetts, New England FEARS
Is anyone interested in FEARS in Massachusetts USA?
My name may not mean much, but my GGMother was ESTER(sp?) (FEARS)PEW of Gloucester MA.
Kyle FEARS of England posted (7-3-02) info about a GEORGE FEAR(s) coming to New England in 1750. Don't know if this is connected to my FEARS, but it's possible.
The FEARS in Gloucester MA, were mostly fisherman, and it seems that most of the Fears' men died at sea.
This info is found at the "Perfect Storm" sponsored web site:
http://www.ecnnews.com/storm/lost1.htmhttp://www.ecnnews.com/storm/lost1.htm
see Part-1;
Pg-18? Josiah H FEARS, d.1837
Pg-20? Isaac (Jr) and Joseph (Jr) FEARS, d. 1843
Pg-22? William FEARS, d. 1849
Also the FEARS, and PEWs have a large section of "Oak Grove" cemetery in Gloucester MA.
The Pews in Gloucester were fish salters who started a "Gorton and Pew" Fish Store.
It is now "Gortons" only, and is a VERY big frozen fish processor in the USA.
Sorry, I don't have much else.....but I really just started with the FEARS.
I was looking for Dennis Fenton (from London) and Bridget (Power) Fenton (from London?).
I believe she emigrated to the Boston area in early-mid 1800's with a young son Edward F., (my GFather).
I live in the Greater Boston area of Massachusetts.
Please respond, if you have/need more info.
Thanks very much; Charlie (Charles H Fenton)
