Just yesterday (Feb. 4, 2008) I received brand new information that my Mullen grgrgrandfather's mother was named Ellen Teerin/"Feerin/Ferrin" (more than likely Fearon), b. Co. Galway, Ireland. My grgrgrandfather was Patrick Mullen b. c 1824 Ireland, his father was Lawrence Mullen b. Ireland.
When I started to research the name 'Fearon' today, I saw your post at www.genforum.com that had both the names I am most interested in right now and wondered if there was a possible Irish connection.
I know absolutely nothing about the Fearon family whatsoever.
The spellings for the Fearon name were taken from two different sources for my grgrgrgrandparent's son, Lawrence Mullen in St. Louis, Missouri death records online. So, I am researching all spellings. But, I have come up empty handed, as I assumed I would, with the spelling of 'Teerin'. It is the spelling, even off, of Fearon that I am the most focused on.
I've been researching my Mullen family tree for the past 2 years and this is the first time I have had any idea what these people's names were. I'm now hoping someone can lead me to where they may be buried, where they were born, married and who their parents were. I know they were Roman Catholic, if that is any help.
Any help or direction is greatly appreciated.

Below is the "naming" patern for the children that I am aware of and what has been told/handed down to us about Lawrence Mullen and Ellen Fearon's children:

My grgrgrandfather, Patrick Mullen, three of his brothers (William, Dennis & Lawrence) & one sister (Hannah (Mullen) Hart) was SAID to have 'CAME from County Galway', late 1840's to mid-1860's (Lawrence believed to have been the last in 1862). Nowhere is it ever mentioned that these Mullens were BORN in Co. Galway, Ireland. I have NO IDEA where they were born in Ireland, but they were most definitely from Ireland. It was told that one brother, Thomas, stayed in Ireland and was reportedly mad at the others because they would leave Ireland for America, plus stories handed down say 'the married siblings got their first homes on the estate where the family lived and worked'.
Does anyone know any of this family? Are you missing these people from your family tree? I know of and have heard the names of the following:
*Patrick MULLEN b. abt. 1824 IRE d. 9 Jan. 1892 Leasburg, Crawford Co., Missouri;
*Denis/Dennis MULLEN b. abt. 1830 IRE d. 17 March 1900 Leasburg, Crawford Co., Missouri;
*William "Wild Bill" MULLEN b. unk d. 14 June 1849 in Keytesville, Missouri (killed over a card game, near St. Louis);
*Lawrence MULLEN b. Jan. 1840 IRE d. 7 May 1915 Cuba, Crawford Co., Missouri;
*Hannah (MULLEN) Hart b. abt. 1837 IRE d. unk St. Louis or Crawford Co., Missouri;
*Bridget MULLEN reportedly came to Crawford Co., Missouri and did not like it; headed to New York and was never heard of again--no proof;
*John MULLEN reportedly came to America and his family, in Missouri, did not hear from him for fifty years--he had moved to Kansas and reared a family there--no proof;
*Catherine MULLEN is one, some cousins say, that they were told was also a sibling, and was only in Missouri for a very short time--no proof.
And, married siblings on top of all of these? Huge family!!! (Yes, they were Roman Catholic!)
The estate they reportedly lived /worked on was Briefield? Briarfield?
I'm guessing at their father's name--Patrick MULLENs oldest son was 'Lawrence Louis MULLEN'....his middle name was for his mother's father; so, am guessing that his first name was for Patrick's father, thus have named him Lawrence(?) MULLEN.
Any help, at all, on this family, would be most deeply appreciated. I have years of info from the known siblings to present. But as to where they were born in Ireland, their parents and other siblings, I have no clue. If you can help me, I do most sincerely thank you ahead of time for all you've done.
