I have quite a bit of data on this family, but have not been able to link it to my wife's Fearnleys of Landgate Farm near Bryn, just north of Ashton in Makerfield.

Have you come across Gillian Scrimshaw? She was researching this line for a friend.

The story goes that the widow Fearnley and her sons were subject to a "removal request" from Warrington to Lowton parish, apparently after the father died.

Can you email me direct at
I tried to read your email address by got it wrong and message was returned.
