Ferne's and Huguenots

Hi Christine,

My wife's is descended from Charles George Ferne (b. 27 August 1827), son of Thomas Daniels Ferne.

My wife's grandfather Cliffe (b. 1909) had three oral traditions regarding the family origins; source unknown:
1. The Ferne's were Huguenots
2. They were French
3. They came from the French-Belgian border area

My wife's aunt has asked me look for any similar family stories so I appreciate your posting!
