I have :

1) William Ferne born abt 1689 married Mary abt 1709 in Southam.
They had children:
William b abt 1710 Southam, John b abt 1712 Southam, Charles 1717 Southam, Anne 1720 Southam, Mary 1722 Southam, Bartholemew 1725 Southam, Jane 1727 Southam, Martha 1729 Southam, Christopher 1732 Southam, and Martha 1737 Southam.
2) Their son Thomas married Sarah and their son Thomas b 1742 in Ladbroke married Ann French in Brington, Northants in 1768. They had 3 children, Thomas b 1769 Ladbroke, John b 1770 Ladbroke and William b 1776 in Culworth Northants. The family don't seem to have stayed in Culworth - there are no other Fernes (any spelling) baptised, married or buried in the village.
3) William marries Mary Amos in Paulerspury, Northants in 1802 but she dies na dhe marries Mary Arnsby in Paulerspury in 1820. William and Mary had six children, three of whom died young. I can find no mention of the other three: Benjamin, William and Sarah. He had three children by his second marriage, Ann, John and Esther, all of whom were born in Paulerspury in Northants.

I live about ten miles from Culworth and about 15 from Ladbroke. Last week I went to Ladbroke church and found the first world war memorial on the wall of the church listing the Fearns that had died. I looked at the old gravestones in the churchyard but they were too worn to ready. It is an intersting village - as you drive into the village from the church there are newish houses on the right hand side of the road. They replace older ones, which could have been where our Fernes lived.

Do you know whether any of the Ferne's in Ladbroke were lacemakers?
