Feakes Family Genealogy Forum

I come from a branch of the Feakes family that originated, or at least settled in, Staffordshire. My grandfather, Francis John, b.1879 was the son of John James Feakes from Bilston Staffs, the second husband of Sarah Tunstall, from Stone, Staffs. John James was the son of Francis, b.1801 in Burton on Trent, who married Rebecca Chatfield from Uttoxeter. Francis' parents were Thomas and Elizabeth (b.1776 and 1774 Burton) and Thomas was the son of William and Dorothy Feakes. William died in Burton around 1788 and Dorothy was buried there in 1799. William & Dorothy had other children, including a son, known as Will, baptised in 1759.
Looking at the other posts on Staffordshire Feakeses it looks like William is John James's brother, but I have William as being married to Harriet, from Great Claybrook in Leicestershire, and having 3 children: John Thomas, Ann and Harriet. They were all born in Birmingham, which is where my grandfather met and married my grandmother, Catherine Mary Dempsey from Kinsale, in County Cork. 2 of William's sisters, Emma and Mary Ann were baptsied at Carter Street Independent Chapel. My grandmother, on the other hand, was Roman Catholic, and on her return later to Ireland, with her children, was asked to move on from lodgings several times, apparently priests had forced landladies to ask her to go as she had married an English Protestant soldier (in 1905).
If anyone has any further information, especially about William & Dorothy's parentage, I'd love to share it
