This couple did not marry legally until February 10, 1801. In Louisiana, at that time, fathering a child outside of marriage was a serious crime punishable by imprisonment. JACQUES FAYARD appears to have been a fictitious name used to conceal a crime. MARIE LOUISE FAYARD also gave birth to a daughter named FRANCOISE who was supposedly fathered by a FRANCOIS CARCAUX - a man who apparently also never existed. Notify Administrator about this message?
