I really really hope u still check this. My name is Crystal and my great-great-great grandfather is James Fay, He was born in Ireland, but he is buried in Alliance, Nebraska (the family lived there for a while,it's the only catholic cemetery in the city and very pooly kept) James Fay came here in I believe in 1888 and came in with a Bridget Fenton , his Wifes name was Ellen Fenton (they owned a farm in Wisconsin, I found the tax records, b/c James Fay lived there, until moving to Nebraska with Ellen) My great-grandfather recently found documents stating that Bridget was his sister, so we are assuming that she was widdowed in Ireland and came to be with his family in Wisconsin...again we are very unsure. But here is ths breakdown as I was given.

James Fay b. 1851 (not 1842) Dublin, Ireland marrd: 1875
d. 18 Dec 1921 Alliance, Neb. in 1880 he was a farmer in Plesent Valley, Ne
Ellen Fenton B 1846 wISCONSIN D. 1885 Platte Co, Ne
kids: Thomas, Esther, Michael James, & Julia (Ellen died giving birth to Julia and James was unable to care for Julia so she was givin up for adoption)

(I'm a decendent of Michael, but I'm giving u the Thomas info)
Thomas Fay b. 1877 Lindsey, Platte Co, Ne D.Jan 1962 Cal.
Married : Maude (Ada Maude McGarrity) b. New Southwales, Aus
I realize the above info is different, but this is what was in the geneolgy report that my great-grandfather was given
kids:
Vernard, Edward, Earl, Melvin b 1911?, Ne., & Harold

I've looked constantly for more info in Ireland, but I would say DNA is the way to go...I was honestly thinking about it myself. Sorry to have been so long winded....I've been looking for anyone who even has a fay connection for years. Hope it's helpful in some form.
