In the 1860 census of Leon, Monroe Co. WI, there is a 60 year old Thomas Fawcett and his 37 year old son, George living in HH# 544. They are listed as farmers from England. Next door there is a younger Thomas Fawcett, and in HH#549 we find widow Ruth Rathbun 52, with her sons B. B. 15, Chas 13, and Byron 10. She listed as a farmer from NY. Her older son, Giles Rathbun 21 farmer from NY, and wife Miranda 19, live in #546 with children Charlotte 2, and Virgil 3 months.
I have information that Ruth Rathbun and Thomas Fawcett married in July or August of 1860. Ruth later died in Morrison Co., MN in 1890 at the home of her daughter Caroline Love, wife of George Washington Love.
Could this be the same Thomas Fawcett in your line?
