Hello Fawcett family members,
I am doing research into the adoption of a baby boy born in Gainesville, Florida, in 1965. His adoption papers identify him as "Baby Boy Fawcett" which means that his birthmother's last name was Fawcett.
Before he was born, his birthmother apparently stayed in a home for un-wed mothers which operated under different names through it's history. It was Southern Rescue Workers in the 1950s, it was Hampton Hall in the 1960s, and it was Marie Taylor home in the late '60s to early '70s when it closed.
The purpose for this research is for medical history. The adult adoptee does not require direct contact with his birthmother or her family if that would be disruptive. However, he does request and plead for whatever medical history he can get about his birthmother since 1965. This information may help explain his medical problems. He has a wife and a baby of his own to care for and his doctors need more information.
This Birthmother Fawcett may or not have been from Florida and only travelled there for the birth or maybe she was a Florida resident. If you know any Fawcett mother who lived in Gainesville, FL at ages 16 to 19 in 1965 and gave a baby up for adoption, then please email me. Then we can compare the rest of the information from the Hampton Hall records and adoption records to what information you provide.
Thank you very much!
