Try to get death certificates, which should give you the parents' names.You really should go to your local historical society and LDS Library (Latter Day Saints/Mormon); there is usually at least one in every large town.You could also contact a local D.A.R. society.All of these groups have genealogists who would be glad to help you.If you are sure the Fawcetts in Alexandria are the ones you are looking for, you could write to the historical society and courthouse in Fairfax County.I have been there to do research, but it has been quite awhile.The LDS Libraries have thousands of genealogies on computer discs and many other records you can use (FREE).You do have to pay for any microfilm which you might want from Salt Lake, where all their records are stored.You should also be able to check census records there.These are just a few ideas; there are so many resources out there, and I haven't even used many of them.Good luck!
