my grandma, is a native american from mississippi. most people know us as the mississippi choctaws. her maiden name is farve. she remembers this from back in her days. she attended public schools such as west tallahatchie, which is located here in mississippi, and a catholic school in pennsylvania...she remembers her last name being spelled "favre" but after attending one of the schools, she said the teachers changed the spelling of her last name to f-a-r-v-e saying she has mispelled her last name. from then on she has continued to spell her last name as the teachers had changed it. she is of the french lineage. simon favre and pistikiokany. in the rough draft of the book that beauregard favre had put together, simon's last name and most of the other favre's in there was spelled f-a-v-r-e.
