First, I want to say that in the US,they always try to translate a french name. For exemple, once I sent the surname «Rose» and the person wrote «Pink».
Rose is a flower and pink is a colour. Why not write it the way I had «Rose»
As for the name «Favre» , you pronounce each letter. I will take for exemple: how do you pronounce «Obama» or Barrack? It is the same with Favre, «Fa» and the «vre» you have the «v» like in have, then the «r» and the «e» like in «the»
I hope that will help. Favre is a French name and the ancestor's name who came to Canada.
