I am doing research on the Favre/Farve line out of Hancock County and have gathered a lot on the various branches. I made the trip from here in Mobile, where I live, to Bay St. Louis yesterday. Wow, that place has a lot of work to still be done before it ever gets back to normal again. Anyway, I trekked around the St. Mary's cemetery on Second Street and came across some of the Favres I was looking for, didn't make it to St. Rose's though, ran out of time. Any clues...I'm stuck. I am tracing the line from Lemuel (Lamien) (Samuel) David Favre b. Jan 30th 1862 d. March 11, 1925, buried in St. Mary's Cemetery in Bay St. Louis, saw the grave yesterday. Lem or Sam married Rosalie Caroline Favre, her tombstone reads (Rosalie C.) b. Feb 29, 1868 and died Feb 14, 1953 and is she buried beside her husband. I sourced and copied all Favre and Farve records from the Our Lady of the Gulf Baptismal books 1, 2, and 3. It took hours but well worth it. I have dates and names of all but whom I was looking for except for a little on Rosalie. Rosalie was baptised on June 1, 1868 by priest H. Leduc, parents listed as Eugene Favre + Eugenie Favre, godfather- Pierre Serges, godmother- Cel. Favre. I was hoping to get more concrete sources on her parents, Eugene and Eugene. I didn't find either grave for Eugene, Eugenie, nor Eugene's second wife Eleanor Eloise Fayard Favre. The 1880 census lists Eugene, but I have been unable to locate the family in any prior year, and from what I have gathered, the 1860 Hancock County Census vanished. I have his parents listed as Louis Pierre Favre and Caroline Fayard but have no viable source except for meandering trees online, no one has sourced their information. I am also stuck looking for another line, that of Charles Favre and Millie or Mary Ann Beeson. They are also nonexistant on the census. I have looked everywhere in 1850 to no avail. The census didn't have the info, nor did OLG church on the three children listed..Joseph Joel Favre, March 13, 1857, James Callos Favre, January 17, 1859, and Lemuel (Samuel) David Favre, January 30, 1862. Though the baptismal books had all of these brother's wives and children listed through the years through baptism, it showed nothing on their parents. Willing to share information out of these records if it is a few names at a time, I copied just about all of the first book with all of the Cuevas, Ladner, Nicaise, Favre, and Cospelich, Dedau, , Bourgeois, you get the picture, haha. That was the first book, 1st enry dated Aug 15, 1847, final entry dated Sept 4, 1870. Copied 89 pages out of 120. The second and third books I was short on time, so only copied the Favre information.
