Favre pronunciation

This might already be answered on the site somewhere in the past, but I'd like to ask again. Do you pronounce Favre as "faahve" or "farve?" (In other words, which letters are silent, etc.?) It always sounds to me like people are saying the name as though it's spelled with the "r" first--Farve. Not important, but I'd like to know--thanks!
