Alma L. Collier
Alma L. Collier, age 91, of Evansville, died at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2007, at Westpark Rehabilitation Center.
Alma was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church. She loved bowling, shopping, trips to any place with Wilma and caring for all of her grand- and great-grandchildren.
She also loved family gatherings. Alma was active in SWIRCA and was an avid bowler until age 89. A special thanks to River Pointe Health Center, and for the loving care she received from the staff of Westpark Rehabilitation Center and Aseracare Hospice. After their retirement John and Alma raised two grandchildren, Laura and Beth Collier, seeing that they graduated from high school and received college degrees.
She is survived by two sons, Jack Hinton and his wife, Doris, of Evansville, and John Collier of Florida; six grandchildren, Mike and Scott Hinton of Evansville, Jacki Hinton of Denver, Colo., Mark Hinton of Columbus, Ind., Beth Collier of Sioux City, Iowa and Laura Levine of Carmel, Ind.; nine great-grandchildren, Aaron, Zach, Michael, Mark Jr. and Taylor Hinton, Abraham and Zack Levine, Therra Copeland and Veronica Torrey; and two great-great-grandchildren, Brayden Hinton and Samantha Copeland. She is also survived by so many special people in her life, especially her sister-in-law and best friend, Wilma Faver, and a very caring nephew, Karl Raider.
Alma was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Collier in 1990; her parents, Dave and Nora Faver; four sisters, Margaret Ohearn, Jessie Sams, Frances Brackett and Thelma Freels; and three brothers, Bueal, Marvin and Omar Faver.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at Boone Funeral Home, East Chapel, 5330 Washington Ave., with Reverend Tony Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Boonville, Ind.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2007, at Boone Funeral Home, East Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Aseracare Hospice, 3775 Haley Drive, Newburgh, IN 47630. Condolences may be made to the family online at . [Published in the Courier Press on 5/14/2007]
