My FAUX family is known from Christopher Columbus FAUX b. in VA abt. 1800. His father was from Prussia and mother from MD. My family thinks he was from Alsace Lorraine when it belonged to Germany. Christopher married Rachel DAVISSON in Xenia, Greene Co. OH in 1829 A JP named Josiah DAVISSON married them. My gr grandfather, William Morgan FAUX, was b. in Clark Co. OH in 1836. He and 5 siblings were b. in OH. Two more were born in IA. They were all in Wapelo, Louisa Co. IA in 1850 and in Canton, Fulton Co. IL in 1860. Morgan was in the 16th IA infantry in the Civil War, captured at the battle of Atlanta, and imprisoned at Andersonville. He married Mary Jane Sproul in 1866 and immigrated with her parents and siblings to CA in 1867.
I have great amount of documented data on this family. Eager to share but want to have data on his parents and grandparents. Sue Canavan
