I tried to send the following in an email, but it was returned.

Thank you for your detailed message. It has sent me back to work again on Henry Faus. I did find one website that proclaimed that he was surely the descendant of one Johannes Fahs (also given in immigration records as Faas and Fause) who married Anna Eva Dorothea Knauss and came to America in 1732:

His son Jacob had a child Heinrich, born in 1774 in Berks County, died 30 Sep 1808 in York County. What is the source of Whitehall Township as the birthplace for Henry Faus and Elizabeth Kepler? I have the birthdate for Henry Jr. as 1809, and no birthdates for Mary/Polly and Julia. Could Henry Sr. have died by 1808? But the problem is that it seems unlikely that he would have had children in Whitehall Township and then died in York County. In any case, it is the first attempt I have seen to trace Henry to an immigrant ancestor.

In case you are interested, my own relationship is through Rachel Faus, daughter of Thomas W. and Rachel Robbins. She married John Beishline and their daughter Florence was my grandmother. Apparently Sister Euphrasia didnít know that Rachel had any children.
