I have been searching for many years, information on my Grandfather and his family in France as well as documenting his arrival in Nova Scotia, Canada and eventual immigration to Chelsea area of Massachusetts.
My Grandfather was Remy Fauquet, born in France (maybe Paris) in July 1888. He said his parents were Alfred Fauquet and Louise Corneville. Remy left his French Navy Ship off the coast of Sydney Cape Breton, N.S. Canada and workedin the Coal Mines there for a while. He eventually travelled to Yarmouth, N.S., Canada and worked on the Yarmouth to oston Steamship. He met Marie Alice (Alla)(Ella) Deveau who was born & raised in Salmon River, N.S., Canada d/o Volucien & Sylvie Deveau, born July 1887 and they travelled to Chelsea, Massachusetts and were married there in 1912. They eventually travelled to Mystic, Connecticut where they lived for the remainder of their lives. Has anyone heard of this Fauquet/Cornville/Deveau family????
