John was the father of Jacob and William. It appears William used the Fortenberry spelling. Moved from Virginia to SC around 1746. John was born in 1740 in VA. Son William was born 1772 in SC. Other sons of John were Isreal 1781, Nathaniel 1784, Robert 1778, Jacob 1776, Frances ?. John also had brothers David, Henry and Robert and Jacob. John's father was also Jacob born 1715 in virginia. Nathaniel is my family line and we live near Lancaster SC.
