Hi Karen,
I am not sure if you are aware of the 1880 USA census.I was looking for an Alexander Faulds for
a friend, on the IGI for Scotland. The name Alexander Faulds popped up from the USA census.
His birthdate is given as 1842.He was located with his family in Clay, Indiana.I found him on the 1871
census for New Kilpatrick. He had an older sister, Agnes and an older brother John. I believe there are
more children but at the moment unable to locate them.
My friend Bill Wheeler, you will find him further down the page from your message, has an interest in
this family. Let me know how you get on.Many of the Faulds families moved to New Kilpatrick
from the Renfrew area, where there was better paying jobs working in ironstone mines and building sites.
If this is your Alexander, Bill, I am sure, will be glad to hear from you.
Let me know Karen. Oh one more thing. I had a quick look for your Faulds marrying a Crawford. Could
only find one most probably to far back.George CrawfordMargaret Fauldsm. Abbey, Paisley Renfrew
