Hi Claire,
I remember the research you are talking about. The lady's name was Olga Laurent. I know LaPlace has a collection and I believe Nicholls State University also. I found the lady's name in your posting of Sept. 5, 2000.
My husband is a descendant of Emilien Faucheaux, son of George Faucheux and Celeste Schexnayder. I would love to know who her parents are.
Anyway, I've been away from genealogy for a while as we have moved to New Jersey.
