I don't know if he is the same man, but my grandfather told me of a Civil War ancestor wounded in battle, tried to make it back home to Union and died in Chester, SC, approximately 20 miles from home.

My grandfather was Norman William Faucett.
His father was William Faucett.

All of Union, SC.
