I have searched my roots back to grandfather,James Morgan Forbus, born Jackson County,Ky in 1864. His father Thomas Merit Forbus was born in Rockcastle Co., Ky. Abt. 1843. His father,Morgan N, Faubus was born in Washington Co., Tennessee Abt. 1821. His father Thomas A.Farbush was born in Virginia Abt. 1791.His father John Forbes/Forbush/Forbus was born in Fredrick Co., Virginia in 1759. In the 1850 U.S. census- Laurel County Ky. with marriages and vital statistics, John names his father as Robert from Burke Co., N.C. I have tried to link Robert to another Virginia or Noth Carolina family, butI have been unable to do that. I think Robert may have been born in Scotland, but I can't prove that. To anyone who reads this message that would help me, my e-mail is Thanks Robert
