Robert, I am a descendant of Johann Nicklaus Fast > Francis > George (m. to Susannah Shuc/Shuck/Shough) > Mary Ann, married to Solomon High. I'm attempting to find Solomon High's father, Joseph High, born June 30, 1793 in Pennsylvania. Joseph died in 1864 in De Kalb County, Indiana. We do not know his wife's name, nor his ancestors. In our family, it has been told that the original family name was Hoch, possibly changed to Hough, then to High. Do you have any information?
Solomon and Mary Ann were married in Ashland County, Ohio, May 2, 1853. Mary Ann was either born in Ashland County, Ohio or in Pennsylvania. Do you have Mary Ann's actual birth place? And which is the correct name of Susannah?
