Tom,

After beginning our discussion, I purchased *The Adventure of Christian Fast* by Don Oakley. You may be familiar with it; it is available in paperback from Amazon.com...

While it my not be entirely bound by historical fact, it indicates that "Molunthe" was the name of a young Delaware who died; Christian was adopted by the lost Delaware's mother to replace him, and therefore took the name "Molunthe."

It also mentions that the Shawnee called him a name which meant "walks on his hands" but did not say what the name was.

If you've never seen the book, it's a fun read!
