On page 41 of "The Farwell Family" Vol 1 by F.H. and F.B. Farwell published in 1929 it is said that in the year 1700, Joseph Farwell bought with the Colburns, his son in law, the walso farm in Dunstable bounded south by the Tyng farm, extending to the mouth of the brook near Tyngs borough's meeting house, its indian name, Great Naacook, to the mouth of Howard's brook, its indian name, Little Naacook, and extending from the river west to Brottles farm.
Thomas could be the son in law mentioned. Maybe land grants would show their relationship. You might check this out.
