Hi All,
I am curious about the Sarah Bennet you mention. I have Bennet's from Stonington and Brattleboro VT. Would you know anything else about her.?
Firstly FAREWELL is not my (Shelley's) line but was asked by George, the following:
About 1791 Sarah Farwell with at least two children, Moody and Acheus, went to Ontario and claimed land given to loyalists who were booted out of Vermont. Her husband was John or Jonathan. He had two other sons and a daughter, the son, Jonathan, may have been the father of one of my ancestors. Susan Farwell. Supposedly she married Jonathan Hood and went to Canada for a few years before they returned to Topsham. Is there some kind of record of people who might have gone to Canada and returned??
Supposedly Jonathan Farwell went up in about 1812 and had his horse and cart seized by the British. 1812 was not a good year to travel for a Vermonter.
Any ideas about where to start??

I'm not very good at all this genealogy yet but I have a Genealogical Index for Canada and it has some stuff. Did Sarah Farwell go to Canada as a Mrs. Farwell. There is some stuff on two Moody Farwells etc. (slightly different spelling). I'll see if I can paste the stuff here and you can tell me if you think it's the right family. You probably already have all of this.
I'm also not sure how to find the info. you want. Maybe you could check out the Ontario Rootslist? Maybe someone more experienced could help.
