Farwell, Willard to California

I am still looking for Willard Farwell and I believe his brother John. They came to California with J.D. Stevenson's regiment of the NY Volunteers to fight the Mexican-American War in March 1847. The purpose of the Volunteers was to also settle California for the purpose of statehood. Willard and John are listed as California Pioneers and their date of entry to California is March 15, 1947. This is the date the military ship was in San Francisco Bay. Willard was a state assemblyman for the year 1855 to 1856. I found on the internet that there was a reunion of the Pioneers on March 16, 1874 in NYC at the Sturtevant House. Willard attended. Several well know people from history also were in the NY Volunteers. Willard married my gggrandfather's(who was also a NY Volunteer)daughter and I have a San Francisco directory entry that has Willard living with my gggrandfather in 1889. Any help on this would be greatful!
