Farrars/ Farrers of Ewood Hall, Midgley, Yorkshire - 18th Century

I am doing some very specific research on the village of Midgley, Nr Halifax W Yorkshire in the 18th Century and in particular on the local Farrer family in this period.

I have details of a James Farrer who was Lord of the Manor of Midgley in the 1760's and wondered if anyone on the list
could identify who this James Farrer might be and give me further information on him & his dates, immediate family, parentage, wife, children and the subsequent Lords of the Manor of Midgley after him. Can anyone also tell me of the other estates that the Farrer family held locally.

I know the Farrers were a long-established family in this area and had inherited Ewood Hall in Midgley via the de Lacys in the mid 16th Century.

I also know that there were close Methodist connections with the Farrers and that John Wesley stayed at Ewood Hall twice during his travels around England, once in 1752.

If anyone can help would appreciate your input
Many thanks

Rod Barron
