Addington A. Garden, a resident of Gladwin County for more than 40 years, died at the home of his son, Godfrey, at Grage, Presque Isle County, Nov. 1, 1925, at 3:30 P.M., aged 89 years, 5 months, 5 days, after an illness of 8 days.The body was brought to Gladwin Nov. 4 and taken to the home of Adelbert Greer, where funeral services were held Thursday morning Nov. 5, conducted by the Rev. G. V. Dean, with burial in Ridge Cemetery beside his wife who died some years ago.
Mr. Garden was born in New Brunswick, Canada, April 26, 1836, and was married there to Mary Farrand.To this union, four children were born, three sons and one daughter, as follows; Addington E., George W., Edna J. and Godfrey U., with three grandchildren, Miss May Garden and Mrs. Arthur Ogg of Gladwin, daughters of George W., and Mrs L. G. Terry of Seattle, WA, daughter of Edna J.
Mr. Garden and sons were engaged in the sawmill business after coming to Gladwin, operating their mill in the Wright Lumber Co. railroad in Butman and later on their farm in Gladwin.
The LDS site has Addington's name misspelled, Herington, in their transcription of the 1880 census.They also have Godfrey's name misspelled, Gaderey, and they have the last name misspelled Gardon.Also in the household in the 1880 census is John Sampson, single, male, white, age 26, born Canada, works on farm, father born Ireland, mother born Ireland, and Cora Nowlin, single, female, white, age 11, born MI, at school, father born MI, mother born MA.

Eva Ogg, 87, of 1745 Dow Dr., Gladwin, died monday eve, January 3, in the Clare Osteopathic Hospital.
Born in Gladwin Twp. on November 22, 1895, she had spent her lifetime here.
The former Eva Garden, she was married to William A. Ogg on November 25, 1913.He preceded her in death May 19, 1965.
Surviving are 5 sons, Newell, Lyle, Grant and Glenn of Gladwin and Jay of Rochester, MN; 3 daughters, Mrs. Floyd (Ruth) Crockett of midland, Mrs. Rube (Avis) Condra and Jean Ogg of Gladwin; one sister Mae Garden of Gladwin; 18 grandchildren and 15 gt-grandchildren.
Services will be held thursday, at 1 P.M. from the Mathews Funeral Home.The Rev Donald Bates will officiate and burial will be in the Ridge Cemetery.Friends may call after 2 p.m. wednesday at the funeral home.
Eva is buried in the 2nd Garden plot in Ridge Cemetery with her husband, daughter Jeane, father George and uncles Godfrey and Addington E. Garden.

Arthur Ogg, 77, of Sage Township, died Thursday at the Gladwin Hospital following an illness of several weeks.
Services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Minor Chapel.The Rev. M. R. Putman officiated and burial was in Ridge Cemetery.
Born in Ontario, Canada, on October 22, 1888, he came to Gladwin County 70 years ago.He was engaged in farming.
Mr. Ogg was a former member of the school board and at one time was clerk of Grout Township.
He was married to the former Eva Garden on November 25, 1913, in Gladwin.
Besides his wife, he is survived by five sons, Newell, Lyle, Grant and Glenn of Gladwin and Jay of Bethesda, MD.; three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Crockett of Midland, Mrs. Avis White, of Santa Monica, Calif., and Jean at home; three brothers, James, Dean and Edwin of Gladwin; four sisters, Mrs. Roy Foor, Mrs. William Chatterton and Mrs. Clarence Walker, of Gladwin, and Mrs. Ellen Burgess, of Beaverton; and 18 grandchildren.
