Hello Sean,

Good to read that there is another researcher here in Dublin tracing Farren or Farran.

I'm searching for info on Jane Farran who was a daughter of Richard Farran. According to The Account of Marriages in the Parish of St. Marys, Dublin, this Jane Farran was married to Henry Fitzpatrick on 15th January 1749. The Register is kept at the Representative Church Body Library in Dublin. Henry's father was James Fitzpatrick.

Since posing the above at the Farren Forum I have discovered that there were three Farrans living in Dublin at that time (A Directory of Dublin for the Year 1738, published 2000 by Dublin Corporation Public Libraries). These were

Farren (John) Linen Draper, corner of Capel Street.
Farren (Patrick) Hammond Lane.
Farran (Richard) Smith, Ormond Quay.

I suspect that this Richard is Jane's Father as Qrmond was probably part of St. Mary's Parish. Perhaps the other names might be of interest to you as the ancestor of your research.

If you come upon any Fitzpatricks as you research backwards I would welcome hearing from you.

Regards

Ronan Fitzpatrick.
