Wow!! Thank you so so much! That is an amazing story. I am so glad someone knew what happened. I have a few questions. You said that Ella was a Farrell...I found her and CV's marriage record, and it had her last name recorded as "Pate". That doesn't mean she wasn't a cousin, she could just have been CV's mother's niece so she would have a different last name. Unless they lied when they got married...I don't know if it would have been frowned upon to marry your cousin back then??

Also, could you somehow "spell" how O'Fearghal sounds? Is it like O-FEER-GUL or O-FUR-GUL?

We need to figure out when the kids were put in the orphanage...that way maybe I can look up in the old newspapers and maybe find an obituary for Ella? I can't find one for CV because there are only records of the newspaper from 1917 and later.

The names Bob and Sly make sense because my great grandfather's middle name was Schley (everyone called him Sly) and on his death bed he kept telling "Bob" not to leave him...he had reverted back to his childhood. So that confirms that!

If you can find out how to get in touch with Bernice Wood, I would be happy to call her and find out what she has and if she would be willing to let me look at it.

I talked to Woody's son, Bob, (guess we know where he got that name!) and he said that the family Bible was stolen after his mother died but I am going to ask him about the trunk that his dad destroyed.

I am not sure of the details of the Farrell reunion in Georgia yet but I will let you know as soon as I do. I haven't heard of one on Texas...I live in Tyler, Texas and I know a lot of the family is here or close to here but I haven't heard anything about a reunion here. I'll find out.

Thanks so much for following up and I can't wait to hear what else your grandmother has to say! Don't forget to ask her about Ella!

Please email me at jf9183@aol.com...I would love to perhaps call your grandmother and ask her some questions.
