Absalom Farris - VA to SC - is he a Farrar??

I am researching an Absalom Farris who first appears in the 1770 census of Tryon County, NC. I believe he is the son of William Farris (various spellings) who died in Goochland, VA, in 1745. The will mentions sons Benjamin, Absalom, and William along with wife Rachel. Deeds in which the sons sell land inherited from father show that Absalom was living in SC. Indeed, my Absalom is living in Pendleton County, SC in 1800. In 1820 he's moved to Franklin County, TN. There are Farrars in both places. Is this Absalom somehow related to the Farrars of Henrico? Please help. Absalom doesn't seem to be a very common name, and I do see that there is an Absalom in this line. TIA.

Terri
