Frank, I copied almost anything that I found that mentioned a Farrar while in Lovingston and at the Albemarle Co. Courthouse. I hoped that even if it was not something directly applying to me, that it might help some of the others on this Forum that are researching the Nelson Co. Farrars. Since you and I had corresponded in the past, I recognized the names William H. Farrar and Seaton Farrar as being names you were researching. Hope this helps you trace the path that they may have taken. You are probably right, if they had cooper shops, it is likely that they may have done business in Nelson Co. I am not a "legal beagle", but, my take on this document is that perhaps the deceased person had, in the course of doing business with the Farrars, paid in advance for an item or services and then he died before item or service was rendered. The estate was perhaps suing to retrieve that money (just a thought). I also wondered if you have ever heard of a Hawes Farrar? I found documents and reference to him in Lovingston as well.
