from their father, Richard Farrar, to their brother Joseph.
This Indenture made this eleventh day of September in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred
and fifteen between Shelton Farrar, Samuel Leake and Sophia his wife late Sophia Farrar,
Robert S. Farrar and John L. Farrar, heir's and representatives of Richard Farrar deceased late
of Albemarle of the one part and Joseph Farrar of Albemarle County of the other part.
Witnesseth that the said Shelton Farrar, Samual Leake and Sophia his wife late Sophia Farrar,
Robert S. Farrar and John L. Farrar for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and
ninety seven pounds good and lawful money of Virginia, to them in hand paid the receipt
whereof is hereby acknowledged both bargained and sold and do by these presents bargain
and sell (?) and confirm unto the said Joseph Farrar and his heirs all their right, title and
interest in a certain tracts, tract, parcels or parcel of land whereon Richard Farrar, deceased, late
of Albemarle County, lived at the time of his decease and adjoining the lands of William Bailey,
Benjamin Harris, James Norvelle, Estate of Mathew (?) and John L. Farrar and lying on
the North side of the Rockfish River, to have and to hold the said Interest in said land with
all and any appartenances to him, the said Joseph Farrar, his heirs and assigns forever and the
said Shelton Farrar, Samuel Leake and Sophia his wife late Sophia Farrar do by these presents
forever warrant and defend the right and title to their said Interest in said land, Viz ?.....tract,
parcel or parcels of land to him the said Joseph Farrar, his heirs and assigns forever. In
Witness whereof the said Shelton Farrar, Samuel Leake and Sophia, his wife late Sophia
Farrar, Robert S. Farrar and John L. Farrar hath hereunto Subscribed their names and affixed
their seals this the day and year just above written.
