Farr Family Genealogy Forum
I was looking through a copy of the probate papers of William E. Cravens, who died in Madison County, Missouri in 1856. He was the brother of Ellen (Cravens) Farr, wife of Dr. Madison C. Farr. Among the papers was a letter dated July 22, 1856 from John McEarly of Izard Co, AR to his brother, sister, father and mother.
Since John McKerly married Joanna Farr on February 6, 1823 in Rutherford Co, TN, Iím assuming that he was writing to Madison C. Farr, who must have accidentally included the letter in the probate papers. The letter has nothing to do with William E. Cravens or his estate. Dr. Farr (along with his brother-in-law) became the administrator of the estate in June 1856 so the letter dated July 22 would have arrived right in the middle of the probate process.
I think the brother, sister, father, and mother referred to in the letter were Madison C. Farr, his wife Ellen (Cravens) Farr, John Farr, and his wife Mary (England) Farr, all of whom were alive in 1856 and living in Madison Co, MO.
