Farnsworth, Connie - Appanoose Co., IA
I was advised that in the Old Age Assistance Records for Appanoose Co., IA at the Drake Public Library in Centerville there are two children of John and Rachael (Hall) Farnsworth listed:
Farnsworth, Connie D - male, b. Centerville 01 Sept-1880, address Centerville
Farnsworth, Charles H. - male, b. Centerville 01 Sept-1880, address Centerville
(Their mother Rachel died 09 Sept 1880.)
1880 Federal Census records show John and Rachel living in Empire, Ellsworth Co., Kansas with children Addison, Ora, William, Verta and David.
In John’s Civil War pension application papers he listed neither Connie nor Charles as his children; however, John’s 1932 obituary does list Charles as a surviving son.
Information I have found on Charles H(oward) includes an 1885 Iowa State census record where he is at age four living with his grandmother Luvisa Hall, a widow.(Luvisa was Rachel’s mother.)I found him in another Iowa State census – 1925 living in Centerville with his wife Emma.
My question is – what happened to Connie D. Farnsworth from birth to the listing in the Old Age Assistance Records?I have found absolutely nothing on this person.
Note –within this same time frame (give or take a little) there is another John and Rachel Farnsworth in Iowa– she was a Richardson. This is not the family I am researching.
John and his second wife, Laura Emily Williams, were my great-grandparents.
