Some of Rachel's brothers and a sister settled in Monroe County.I have the 1900, 10 and 20 Monroe County census on loan as of Friday.I was checking to see if any FARLEY children ended up there.Thinking that Silas had to be married before, or was a long time bachelor, which is not out of the question. Some of the FARLEY's went to Leroy Township, Coffee County, Kansas in late 1860 and were there for the 1870 census. Isaac Phillips, son of Rachel Sharp Phillips Faley and her first husband, John Phillips went with them.He came back and was on the 1880 census back in Columbia Twp, Meigs CO. He was of course married to Barbara Jane Farley, which I suspect was a niece of Silas. He was 20 years older than her. They are buried in the Bethel Cemetery in Vinton CO, OH. Isaac served in the CW from the 140th INF and I suspect that this is where his land was that he rece'd for his service.I feel the FARLEY's that went to
Kansas were also kin to my FARLEY. Especially since they settled close to Isaac and Barbara.I would be glad to send you a print out if this is toooo confusing. When someone gives this type of info I have to get out pencil and paper and make a family tree so I can understand the whole family links. Isaac and Barbara finally settled in Mineral Twp, Vinton County, Oh. after Rachel's death. There are several other mysteries that I have tried to clear up..... Dicey Farley that m. Rachel's brother Thomas Jefferson SHARP has just got to be kin to Silas, but I can not prove that. John Farley who m. Mary Grogen and had the dau Barbara Jane that m. Isaac Phillips surely is kin to both of the above. But, without the document that ties them......I am still only conjecturing.Keep at it, it will come.
