Bob,
Would you be so kind as to check your CD of the 12 Gen.Book, and see if there is any reference to a Stewart [or Stuart] Farley, born about 1755-56?Stewart is said to have been in VA and NC before coming to SC where he is listed on the 1810 census. He is said to have had a sister named Elizabeth, who married Stephen Garrison.
I havebeen told Stewart was the father of Robert and Daniel [and possibly Jesse].One of my ancestors, Robert Farley was born 1780-1790 [a male, 40-50, on the 1830 census], and [in VA, according to his children's parent's birth on the 1880 census].
Robert came to AL in early 1820's [was a witness to an 1826 deed in Jefferson Co., AL; had children marry there and in Blount Co., AL, in the 1830's].Some of his children were born in SC, others in AL, some on the 1830 census haven't been identified.
Thanks,
Melba
