Dan - As I continue to "delve" into your query there is one question.

Does the P. H. FARLEY Monument show Birth & Death Years?

PLEASANT H. FARLEY m SARAH C. NUNALLY 13th Dec 1848 Amelia

{ca 21 years old - b ca 1827}

1850 Federal Census Amelia Co., VA shows:

55 A - Pleasan Farley 24 b VA

{b ca 1826}

1860 Federal Census Amelia Co.,VA shows:

178 - PLEASANT FARLEY 31 b VA

{b ca 1829}

Take the middle number: PLEASANT H. FARLEY b ca 1827

If the Monument has a birth year would the above be close?

1870 Federal Census Amelia Co., VA Leigh Township

511 Farrar, Sarah 41 b VA
Edward 2 b VA

in the Household: WILLIAM FARLEY 17 b VA

ROBERT FARLEY 15 b VA

If the Monument has a Death Year would 1865 be close?

My Amelia Co., VA maps are just not good enough to find either the Paineville Post Office of 1860 or the Leigh Township of 1870. Sorry.

Unfortunately - I was unable to bring up anything on the 3 Confederate Army Units involved i. e., 20th VA INF, 2nd VA Artillery or the 25th Battalion Infantry. If they operated as the Units did in the Revolution one could know which Counties they recruited in for their servicemen. The information is probably somewhere on the internet and I'm just not smart enough to find it.

Lois
