Silas is from this line:
Silas M Farley b. January 18, 1830 in Illinois, son of Silas and Cordelia (Tade) Farley. Cordelia was the widow of Dolph Hannah, and daughter of David Tade. Silas M. Farley died March 22 (?), 1911 at home of son Dolph. Married Alice Bartlett in 1851; she died 1863. Their childen included:
       Louisa Farley; Adolphus B. Farley, b. January 22, 1854 (AKA "Dolph"); Alice T. Farley; Margaret Farley; Ellen E. Farley. One census record indicates dau. Thelma. Silas M.Farley later married 2nd.wife Mrs. Catherine O'Donald (b. Feb 15, 1826, d. June 24, 1883
---1870 census shows Silas living in Lane Co. Lancaster Twnsp., OR, with children Louise, Dolphus, Alice, Margaret, Ellen, Catherine, U.S.Grant Farley & Ella, Emma & Claus O'Donald.

More notes re the children:
Louisa: cenus records indicate she was born around 1852 in Iowa. Her full name may have been Hannah Louisa Farley, as a Hannah L. Farley married IW Newcomb 18 July 1872.
Alice, b. 1856 Or, she married John W Crow 24 May 1874
Margaret, b. ca 1858, married Oliver Orlin or Ortin 30 Sep 1877
Ellen, b. ca 1861, believed to have married Mr. G.S. Minton 20 Nov 1881 in Lane Co., OR
Catherine (Ettie on 1880 census) b. ca 1867
Uylsses G., b. ca 1868
Minnie, b. ca 1871


Silas FARLEY, b. Aug. 13, 1802, married Mrs. Cordelia (Tade) Hannah, b. Feb. 21, 1801, widow of Brice HANNAH.        The Hannahs lived in Gallatin Co., where son Dolphes Brice Hannah was b. Oct. 11, 1822, about 5 miles N. of Shawneetown. Brice, a businessman engaged in trade and forwarding, died in the spring of 1823, leaving wife, and two children (Adolphes Brice Hannah, known as Dolph, and Ellen Hannah b. October 18, 1821) . John McLaughlin was appointed to administer the estate, and left the area with the proceeds. Cordelia (Celia) was the daughter of David TADE. Census records indicate Brice was b. 1780 in NC.
       The widow married Silas Farley, a flatboatman and farmer. They moved to White Co., on the Big Wabash, where Silas died the winter of 1833-34. His last trip on the river was disasterous, with all goods lost, and the family was left without means. After planting and selling 10 acres of corn and vegetables, the widow moved to Jefferson Co. in the fall of 1834. In September 1836, David Tade moved the family to Lee Co., Iowa. There they were assisted by Gen. Brown at Montrose. Dolph Hannah learned the brick mason's trade, and ran the ferry at Smith's Hills on Skunk River for two years.
       Silas and Celia had children:
Eliza J. Farley, b. July 29, 1824, married Thomas J. PERRYMAN 1843 in Iowa, died in WA in 1894. Perrymans called her Eliza, but Farleys called her Louisa.
William Farley, b. Dec. 23, 1825.
Elizabeth A. Farley, b. May 27, 1828, m. Jackson W. Painter. In Iowa from 1850-1870 and in Portland OR by 1880.
Silas M. Farley, b. Jan. 18, 1830. Moved to Muscatine Co. Iowa by 1850 and to Oregon by 1856.
David A. Farley, b. Jan. 25, 1833. In Appanoose Co. Iowa in 1850, in Oregon in 1870.
A letter from Dolph Hannah to LC Perryman, son of Eliza and Thomas, refers to Drury Farley of San Diego as Eliza's uncle; i.e., Silas' brother. He also refers to cousins Lizzie Terry, married to James Wesley Alderman; Mollie married to George W. Baker; Ellen married to James W. Melson.
Cordelia Tade
Daughter of David Tade, she married 1st Dolph Hannah, and had two children, Dolph and Ellen. (Adolphes Brice Hannah, b. October 11, 1822 and Ellen Hannah b. October 18, 1821) She married 2nd Silas Farley, a flatboatman and farmer. Silas died the winter of 1833-34. In Sep 1836, David Tade moved the family to Lee Co., Iowa.
She was also known as Celia. Celia Farley is listed in the 1840 census of Lee Co., Iowa, pg 361.
