My grandmother was named Mary Farley and was born c. 1910 in New York. She was told she was the seventh daughter of a seventh son and was named after a child that had died. Both parents (I believe their names were Thomas and Jane Sweeney) died before she was three. She was raised by her older brothers and sisters - names (that I know of!)are Thomas, John, Genevieve and Alice. I believe that the family business was a stable on E. 18th St. in NY. This may have nothing to do with your search but if any of these Farleys appear in your search or to any others please let me know!
