Ref: Cardinal/Archbishop John Murphy Farley (1842-1918), when he arrived in USA
in 1864 his name was Farrelly. After completing his seminary work and became a priest in 1870, he changed his name to Farley in 1872. In Ireland, Farrelly and Farley were used interchangeably. I had thought that Farley probably was the English spelling but don't know.
