Hi - my husband Donald Farland has a great uncle by the name of Robert Farland, NH. Robert is the brother of Wilfred Farland.

Wilfred was illiterate and when he joined the army in WW1 he accidentally mispelled his last name. The Furland family was a nobody as I was told, and he never bothered to change it back from Farland to Furland. Apparently some of the 12 changed to Farland and some stayed with Furland. Again, I don't have all the details yet...

Today is my first day looking into the Genealogy. My husband is considered the 'last'male Farland of his line.

I want to start researching this summer 2000...
