My ancestor was also a Fahrland from Germany, he was born in
Nordhaussen near the town of Fahrland. His name was Johann
Wilhelm Fahrland and immigrated to England. All his records from army, marriage, births, etc, show him as William. So try checking on your ancestors middle names.
