Pat,
Packed away for a pending move is an obituary of Oscar
Farrish from the Galveston Daily News (Galveston, Texas).Perhaps you can obtain a copy from either the newspaper "morgue" (www.galvnews.com) or else contact Galveston's Rosenberg Library, a repository of numerous historical materials dealing with both Galveston and early Texas.
Anecdotally speaking, one of my Galveston grandmothers used to speak fondly of Aunt Fannie (sp) Farrish, and it was she who gave me the obituary clipped from the Galveston paper.
I'm flying to Texas soon so will try to pop by and see a DRT friend who seems to have the Farrish family history down pat (no pun intended) and ply her with a few questions. Will let you know here what I find out when I return.
Best of luck if you're still searching for info on Oscar Farrish.
