Just found your query regarding Merritt Fargo who's parents are Aaron Fargo and Ruth Perry. Your message was posted long ago so I'm curious whether or not you have been able to learn anything more about Aaron and Ruth.

I have lots of information on Ruth Perry's ancestors but I have nothing on Aaron and can't seem to locate any posts that even discuss his parentage, his birth date and place or even his death.

Your post indicated that they had a son Merritt, whom I'm presuming was born some time after 1791. The messages that I've seen regarding a Merritt living in Canada in 1851 seems to me to be off by a generation because of his age in that census was given as being 38 years old. This makes his date of birth to be 1813.

Of course, if Aaron and Ruth had other children between 1791 and 1813 and Merritt is one of the last children born, then I have no problem with him being their son.

I do see on Find-a-grave, as well as on other Internet sites that there are two other Aaron Fargo's but they don't match to the Aaron who is married to Ruth Perry. He should be born some time around 1776 or so, perhaps a bit earlier.

I don't know where Aaron was born nor who his parents are. I have two possible places -- that is states -- one being CT and the other being VT. I think I have his date of birth as Feb 22, 1869. Can you help?

I've also seen two places for Aaron and Ruth's marriage location. One is in Norwich and the other in Franklin. Do you have some source that definitely puts the marriage on one specific spot? New London is the county for both.

Looking forward to hearing from you regarding the Fargo family. I'm newly researching that surname, so am not familiar with the family. Only have Aaron and Merritt in my database, but I have tons of Perry's as I have several family lines I've traced through the years.
