Fare Family Genealogy Forum
I am also researching the Fare name but my interest is Jonathan L. Fare. He was born about 1753 and served in the Sixth Virginia Line in the Revolutionary War. Afterwords he was North Carolina (possibly Buncombe County, Kentucky and finally was in Smith County Tennessee where he died in 1846. I have potentially identified six of his children but believe he was married several time and had a number of others. The one son whose name stands out is Jonathan L. Fare, born in Kentucky about 1807 and lived with his father until he died and later ended up in Nashville where he died in about 1882.
What intrigues me about your Fare line is that your William also had a son Jonathan L. Fare, born 1807 apparently in Tennessee. I find it hard to believe that it is a coincidence that same name shows up in the two families about the same time in the same general area but I have not been able to link the older Jonathan and William.
The name is hard to research and changes from Fare to Faire, Fair, Farr and Pharr among others. Appreciate any thoughts you may have.
